AVODART (dutasteride) soft gelatin capsules are indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.

Description

Dutasteride is absorbed through the skin. AVODART hard capsules should not be handled by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant due to the potential for absorption of dutasteride and the potential risk to a developing male fetus.

The capsules should be swallowed whole and not chewed or opened, as contact with the contents of the capsules may cause irritation of the oropharyngeal mucosa. AVODART can be administered with or without food.
The recommended dose of AVODART is 1 capsule (0.5 mg) once a day.
